Consider The Lilies

Faith in Jesus Christ
". . . . .Consider the lilies of the filed, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin;
If God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven,
Shall He not much more clothe you?
. . . . . . . . . . For your Heavenly Father  knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and His righteousness; and all these things
shall be added unto you".
(Matthew 6: 28-33)

Emma's Dresser/Night Stand

Emma's Dresser Is Done
Whew!
It was a . . . b e a s t. . . .to say the least!
Just a hard project for me to complete.
I tried a new technique and I wasn't sure if I did the right thing (still not sure)
The main thing is
Emma likes it!
This is how it looks now all pretty with fresh paint

This is how it looked before
Poor thing has a story behind it.
This is the story (stay with me it is good)
I has been on the "look-out" for a night stand for Emma.
So everywhere I went I looked, and looked.
One day I was coming home from  dinner with friends
when I could see furniture on a sidewalk
I drove past, but then like all "junkers" I turned around
and went back to see what was there. . .
This little dresser was sitting there with a $25 price on it
No way!  Way too much for this piece.
And besides I don't pay over $10 for most furniture.
I told the young girl I would give her $10.
She agreed to it.
We loaded it in my car. . .   (it is heavy)
When I went to pay her I only had a $50 bill
I ask her if she had change and she said no, she had no money.
She was selling things so she could get a tank of gas.
I ask her if she trusted me to run and get some change
and I promised I would be right back?
Hmmmmmm, she hesitated, and then said yes.
I drove to the nearest store and got change.
She was waiting for me.
I said, "I told you I would be right back."
She said, "You are an honest lady aren't you?"
I told her yes I am and I value my integrity very much.
Then she told me she didn't have honest people in her life.
She was trying to get away from an abusive relationship and needed the money to buy gas.
After hearing her story I felt bad that I talked her down
on the price of the dresser.
I gave her $20 and told her to get away from the abuse.
I prayed for that young woman and I hope she did leave the abusive relationship.

The dresser/night stand has a new look
and a new home.
It will be loved and taken care of.

Gorilla Glue I Love You!

I use GORILLA GLUE
for just about everything.
I use it to glue
my delicate glass items
Gorilla Glue
can be used for fragile glass
My Pedestal Glass
Or
It can be used for TOUGH projects!
My table from the thrift store was
 heavy and wobbley.
I am not strong, and I don't have anyone to help me with tough projects
But I do have my
Gorilla
I knew I couldn't take this table apart and put it together again
I had to have a wood glue I could trust,
And
would do the job I needed done. . .
So
I grabbed my trusty friend the Gorilla Glue

My table is STRONG and HEAVY
and it
DOES NOT WOBBLE!
A silly little weakling like me can  use this stuff (Gorilla Glue)
It does what it says it will do.
My table is in use and best of all
it no long WOBBLES!

Let There Be Light~ Turquoise Please!

My lamps are so out-dated.....
I have really been
on the search
for a new one. . . .
But,
The  ones I want are e.x.p.e.n.s.i.v.e.
I want
TURQUOISE
I love the color
I am a "blue" color person
so it fits well with me.
Well, if you can't afford what is in the market
What do you do?
Of Course,
MAKE YOUR OWN!
Do I love it or what?

Found my lamp at DI
It was an ugly brown but it worked.

Amazing what a little TLC and spray paint does.
Oh, least I forget the lampshade. . . .
Wal-Mart
$14.97
My lamp cost me $3.00
Spray paint I had
so my
TURQUOISE LAMP
cost me less than $20.
She's a cutie
and she
GIVES GOOD LIGHT!
