The Beauty of Storm Clouds- Summer Rain

We  had summer rain last night.
It was beautiful.
We live in a desert, so every bit of rain
we celebrate.
Now this morning there are
Storm Clouds on The Horizon
It is a beautiful sight.
These are the Stansbury Mountains
Tooele County, Utah
I think it looks so ominous. . .It always
makes me feel so insignificant when I see the
grandeur of mountains and the fastness of the sky.
Ah, but I know I am not insignificant. .
I am known and loved by the Greatest Beings
Of The Universe. . .God, the Father and His
Son Jesus Christ.
It is certainly a beautiful world we live in.
Mountains, Valley's, Storm Clouds, and
Summer Rain.
Even when there are storm clouds in our personal lives.
We are still blessed.
He will get us through anything life gives us.
Just as summer rain makes the desert green and colorful,
 Our lives are the same.
Storm clouds equals summer rain
which just means we are full of life, and it brings color to our life.
I hope you are enjoying the beauties of nature where you are.
May there be nothing in your life to cause you harm.
Hugs to all.

Sneek Peek of July

I really am working on things!
I may be slow, but I am getting some things done.
Here is a Sneek Peek at what I have been working on.
I would have it all done to show you,
But
It is getting hot outside and I stopped working
On it until evening, when it is cooler.
This silly banner took me forever. . .
But it shore does look cute.
Why I do all this fussing with holiday decorations,
I don't know.
Well, maybe I do know.  I like to to do it.
I always thought I did it for my children, and then my grands.
But, now I think I do it for my own pleasure.
It makes me HAPPY!
And it keeps me busy creating.
Well, I will be back with the rest of the story.
For now, I am enjoying what I have accomplished so far.
Be sure to come back.
Hugs,

A Little Day Trip

It is always good to get away even if it is for a day.
Me and my best friend took a little day trip to our
Motherland. (My name for my home town)
We met up with dear friends from high school
Yes, I am still in contact with old friends from my childhood.
These gals are so much fun. . Love them dearly.
We had lunch, and then me and my best friend took a little
Ride around town.  We like to reminisce about places.
I like to take my camera a long. . I love to take pictures.
I am not the greatest, but I do try to capture the moment.
Look at Friend Linda's beautiful yard.
Is this not the most colorful decoration for a yard?
I thought this was so cute, of course, I had to take a picture.
And notice the cute purple ladder off to the side.
It is definitely eye candy.
I am seriously still working on projects.
Nothing is getting done!
I think it is because I tend to "Linger Longer" too often.
I hope to have the July decorations up . . .soon.
If not the 4th of July will be over. .
So, be sure to stop by I will soon have a little
Project completed to show you.
A little day trip was what I needed to rejuvenate me.
It helps to get back on track. . .
Lingering Longer with friends and smelling the flowers along
The way gives me the push I need to get things done.
Hugs to you all,

Utah Weather. . .Gotta Love It!

Would you like to see what it is like in
Utah right now, with the weather?
This is June 17, 2014
Ya gotta love the weather in Utah. .
Sometimes we never know what we are going to get.
It looks like this in the mountains, but that snow level is getting
Closer to the valley's.  I have about froze to death today.
Tonight I am in my snuggly long flannel p.j's.
The forcast is that by this weekend it will be in the 90's.
Go figure!
You gotta love Mother Nature?
Hope it is normal weather where you live.
Hugs,

A Favorite Blog- Tatertots and Jello

Hello Hello,
How is the weather where you are?
Today is gloomy and rainy and cold here at my home
Yikes, it is June 17th. I shouldn't be having the furnace on
Really, I do have the furnace on, just to take the chill off.
Sooooo, because of the weather I havne't gotten much done.
Yes, weather problems.  I have a bunch of things I want
To paint and I can't do it outside. . .so not much is going on
Here at Karie's Chic Creations Home.
Oh, I do have my grandson's pants to hem.
He leaves tomorrow for his mission for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funny how they can be so responsible, but leave his pants to the
Day before he leaves for Grandma to hem.
Oh, well, I love him and I would do just about anything for him.
Besides I won't see him for 2 years, and I will miss him a lot.
Something I have been doing is looking at some of my
Favorite blogs.. . .
One of my very favorites is
Jen is the creator and master mind behind this incredible blog.
Skip on over to see what she has going on right now.
Amazing, amazing is all I can say.
I visited her a day ago for some 4th of July ideas.
Again amazing.
Here is what I found that I like a lot for the 4th of July
This is the front porch of her 1905 fixer up house.
Notice the flag?
Is this porch not the cutest?
I love it.
She is always inspiring me.
I loved the yellow, that is where I got the idea for my
Front porch.  Yellow!

More of her July 4th porch.
She will show you step by step how to make that
Adorable flag.  It is made with wood molding.
I am going to try my hand at making one of these.
I think they are adorable.
Like I said skip on over to

Well, I am off to take my Granddaughters to their lessons.
I will be back with some of my own projects hopefully soon
That is if I can get outside to paint.

Hugs,

Father's

Sunday is Father's Day
The day we celebrate our Fathers
My Father-Dad as I like to call him
Was my only parent for 40 years of my life.
My wonderful Dad was left a widow when my
Mother died, leaving him two small children to raise and love.
Not only did he lose my Mom, but his also lost the use of his legs.
They were in a terrible automobile accident my Mom was killed,
And my Dad's spinal cord was severed.  He was 28 years old
And he lived the next 40 years in a wheel-chair.
I can not adequately express in words what he meant to me.
He was more than my Hero. . He was my Dad.
He was kind, gentle, and a man of integrity.
He loved his family, and his friends. . .He was a great example to
Not only me, and my brother, but to everyone he came in contact with.
I was his Princess, and his sweetheart. . I knew it.  Always.
He treated me with gentleness and kindness, even when I needed to be reproved.
Billy Graham has said, "A good Father is one of the most unsung, un-praised,
unnoticed and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.."
I believe this to be true.  Which makes my Dad even more cherished and loved,
Because he was such a good Dad.  He was a treasure. . .
My Dad died 18 years ago.  I have missed him so much over the years.
The older I get the more I think of him.  I think of the great legacy he left me.
I think of his wisdom, his counsel, his smile, he strength, and most of all
His Love. . I knew my Dad loved me.  His last words to me was how
Proud he was of me. And that  he loved me forever.
I know my Dad lives on and that someday in the eternities we will be
Together again.  He walks today in the courts of Heaven.
The greatest gift I ever had, God gave to me. . I call him Dad.

Happy Father's Day.

Good To Be In The Garden

Finally the front door has a door hanging.
I am slow for the summer season. .
I haven't had my door decorated for a month.
Yikes! What will the neighbors say?
I will be changing it in a week though.
Getting ready for the month of July
And the 4th of July.
Well, better late than never.
I do like the front door decorated though.
I had to re-plant the pots on the front porch.
My little pansy's died! (a tear)
I think it was partially my fault. . I think I over fertilized.
I have a tendency to do that.  I figure a little more will make the
Flowers grow even bigger sooner.
Wrong!
But I also they received too much sun. . my porch is a south one.
It gets sun all day, and it is concrete so it gets pretty hot.
Any way the little pansy, just couldn't take it all.
I am thinking of painting my table yellow.
For some reason this year I am into yellow for my outside.
The nice thing about paint. . .I can change it. . .often.
Notice the tall bottle, that was a DI find. I spray painted it yellow.
It seems so good to get out and putter in my yard and garden.
As you know I had shoulder surgery a few months ago
And I haven't been able to do much. . .So it was nice to
Just putter around in the yard.
This was my little helper. . if you can say that.
He was more of a bother than help.
He likes to dig!
He is Teddy, his brother Cash wanted to stay inside
Where it was nice and cool. . . Teddy is the character!
Cash is more mild and he minds me. . .Teddy is another story.
But, I don't know what I would do without these two little fellers,
They are my constant companions.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get a little more yard work done.
The weeds are about to take over my little postage stamp size yard.
Hope you are enjoying your time in your garden and yard.
Hugs,

It Is A Blessing. . .Missionary Grandson

Oh, my goodness, where does time go?
I have been so busy with family events.
I realized I haven't done much to show my blogging friends
I really am still creating and crafting.
But hey, I have a grandson leaving for a Mission for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
And it is a busy time for me, helping my daughter get everything ready.
On Sunday after church we fed over 125 people
Who came to see Andrew and bid him farewell.
For two years he will be serving the Lord.
Andrew and his older brother Joel.  Joel served a mission also.
A beautiful day at the Salt Lake Temple.
I am so blessed.
Oh how I am going to miss this sweet Grandson for 2 years
But, I know he is doing the right thing.
Andrew's Tongan Friends had these Lei's flow in from Tonga
This one is Andrew's.
This is Andy's mother's lei.
The is Andy's Dad's lei.
Aren't they absolutely beautiful.
So kind and generous of them to send these to Andrew.
All is well, and I feel so blessed to be sending the Third Missionary
From my family.
I know Andrew will do the Will of The Lord, by bringing
Soul's Unto Jesus Christ.
But oh, how we will miss him.
Such a joy and a sweetheart.

Summer Morning

Well, Hello. . And a Hello to
JUNE
Oh, don't you just love June?
I do. . .She is a beautiful month.
And I especially love her mornings.
The grass is so lush and the trees are so, so, well Green.
And just look at her sky.
Did I say I love June?
One of my favorite things to do in the mornings of June
Is to sit outside, and just look and listen. .
I love the sounds of the morning in June.
It hasn't gotten too hot here in Utah. . .Yet!
And we are in a terrible drought, but oh, look at June
She is still so beautifully "Cool", and Blue and Green
I love the shadows the early summer morning sun casts
June. . .Thank you for being so beautiful and colorful
Ah, I decided to have a little different color on the front porch this year.
Yellow, and Blue, seems to match the cute little Pansies.
A little different color scheme than I usually have.
Notice the tall yellow bottle. . .it was a find from the
Thrift Store, (DI). It was an amber color.
Amazing what a little spray paint can to.
And the little birds like their new colorful home also.
My front porch is complete with the beautiful pot of petunias my
Daughter and Son-in-law give me each year.
Mmmm. . .Love love the pretty colors.
Just finishes off the small little porch I have.
(Actually I think it is a "stoop")
Well, I look forward to several more
Summer Mornings in June.
Now that I am retired I can
Linger Longer and enjoy some of the things
I always had to rush through when working full time.
My friend Mary at My Dogs My Garden and Mary
Told me that now I am retired, I can Linger Longer
And enjoy life. .
I am finding that is so true.
So my new motto is Linger Longer
Especially Summer Mornings in June.
Hugs,
I will be joining these lovely blogs
