On The Side of Feeling Good

It isn't unusual for me to go a few days
Without posting on my blog,
But let me tell you the reason I have been
Missing. . .Sick. . .Sick. . .Sick!
I came down with the Influenza A
And yes, I did have my flu shot!
But evidently it was for a different strain. .
Oh, I have been sick
I can't remember when I have been this sick.
Not only have I been sick, but 8 other
Members of my family have been sick.
It has been a week, and I am just now starting to think I will live.
It is bad stuff. . .really bad stuff
I have laid in bed, on the couch, and my recliner. .
Temperature was 102
Aches, pains, cough, sore throat.
The works!
Today when I looked in the mirror,
I thought oh, dear I need a
"complete make-over"
I did manage to dress and put a touch of make-up on.
Somehow it always makes me feel better to even have
Lipstick on.
Then I decided I could have my nails done. . .
That would make me feel better. .
It did lift my spirits to have my nails looking pretty.
(hard to take a picture with one hand)
I stopped at one of my favorite shops in town
Ellie Jean's
She had the cutest Eiffel Tower plates. .
I had to buy them. . .
You know anything with the Eiffel Tower will make me feel better.

They are so cute in the dining area on this shelf.
Heaven forbid I show you a picture of what my house looks like now. .
Being sick really takes it's toll on a house.
Isn't that strange?. . .I am the only one living here
And I have been so sick, I can't do anything, and yet
My house is a mess. .
Makes me Wonder? Why?
Well, I think I am on the side of feeling better.
I hope you blogger friends don't get this nasty flu
Good Health to All. . .

A Spring Thrifty Vignette

Hello My Dear Bloggy Friends
Well, from what I hear
Spring has arrived!
I won't know for sure though.
I have had a terrible virus and have been sick in bed.
I am blogging just long enough to show you a cute
Thrift find I got last weekend. . . .before the bug hit me.
I thought it was so cute,
A different shape, and the cute bow.
So of course I put faux flowers in it.
No real ones where I live. .
They are just now peeking up through the ground.
For $1.00 I thought the little vase was worth it. . .
Nothing fancy, but spring-ish and colorful
I added a few of my crochet flowers.
Oh, yes I am still crocheting flowers. . .
Bright fun crochet flowers. .
I don't know quite yet what I am going to do them them all.
For sure I will come up with something.
Hope to be back soon with a few more
Spring vignettes. .
Once I am feeling better. . .
Hope you are all well.

It Won't Be Long

It won't be long until
Spring Arrives. .
Although, here in the high mountains
Of Utah
There will still be plenty of winter weather.
This little daffodil
Is telling  all of us she is hanging on!
I have been watching her for a few days
As she has poked through the rough rock and hard ground.
Her little head is now resting on the "Y" of the old wood stump
Little Daffodil lives at my son's house
She just looks so cute resting that little flower head.
Most people don't even notice her.
I like to search for Spring!
I love seeing the spring flowers popping
Their colorful heads up through Mother Earth. .
They seem to be telling me
"Hold on It Won't Be Long. ."
The Winter will pass and Spring will come
I couldn't help but put in a picture of little Zoey
She too was on the search for Spring with me.
The tulips are showing their green leaves. .
Won't be long until there colorful heads will be showing.
Oh, I can hardly wait!
How about you, is Spring showing her signs where you live?
Oh, I know some of you live where it is Spring all the time.
Not me, I live where I experience all the seasons. . .
Sometimes they get mixed up. . .
Hope you are having an awesome day!

My Precious St. Patrick Day Gift

Today is the day for the
Irish
Ah, I am happy to say I am one. .
A long ways back on my family tree,
But, I have a wee bit of Irish in me!
But, I must say I have something more
I have a beautiful daughter that was born on
March 17
She is my little Irish Babe
I love this cute baby laugh
Oh, she was so beautiful and cute. .
She has always been dressed in green on her
Birthday, and received lots of Irish gifts.
A beautiful smile, and dark brown eyes
That have melted my heart. . .
She is all grown up now
A loving Wife, A caring Mommy
And always my
Precious Daughter.
Happy Birthday Emily!

A Little Bit of Irish

Just a little touch of
Irish
More is on it's way. .
I know I am as slow as could be
By the time I decorate for
St. Patrick's Day
It  will be Easter!
One of these days I have got to STOP
Decorating for every holiday that comes around!
I started it when I had little children. .
Well, they have all grown-up and I am still
Holiday Decorating. .
What's a homemaker to do?

Resisting Change

Saying Good-Bye
And resisting change. . .
I am a person who resists change.
I don't like to say good-bye, I have a hard time
Parting with "things" and places.
I like things to just stay the same. . .
I know that change can be good for the soul and the mind
I know that personal growth can come by change.
None the less, I resist.
A few months ago I lost my dear sweet
Aunt Carol
She was a second mother to me. .
Saying Good-bye is hard for me
Saying good bye to someone I love and cherish
Is extremely hard.
I have had some very difficult
Good-bye's
At a very difficult time in my life
My Aunt sent me this poem.
I came across it in a little book of poetry and quotes
I keep, for my own comfort and peace.
Comes The Dawn
By. Veronica Shoffstall
After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts.
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman and not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads
On today because tomorrows ground is too uncertain.
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight,
After a while you learn that even
Sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate
Your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers,
And you learn that you really can endure. . .
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn
With every goodbye you learn.
To my Aunt Carol for always knowing what I needed.
You have spoken words of wisdom many time to me.
Thanks you.

 Darling idea to "frame" eggs.
Clever
Ok, I want this chest. .

For a chest to paint yellow.
Ahh! The beauty of gentle pink flowers
Green, Yellow, Pink.
All remind me that Spring is just around
The corner.
