Trying To Stay Strong

Oh my dear friends, I pray
you are all doing well.
These are truly hard times,
but I know we can be strong and
The Lord will help us endure.

On of my favorite scriptures is
2 Corinthians 8-13
This is a beautiful discourse from
Paul of the New Testament.
Despite our desire to have our trials and pains
taken from us,
it doesn’t always happen.
Sometimes all we can do is press forward
with faith  and take comfort in knowing
that when we turn to Christ,
He can give us the strength
we need to overcome.

He will give us strength beyond our
own understanding.

I am trying to stay busy.
as you all know I moved a few months ago.
I am still putting things away.
And trying to find a home for every thing.
I must say, some things are moved
because it just doesn't feel right.
And other things are temporarily
put in a place until I can find a home for it.

Well this little beauty didn't have
a home, she was in a closet!

.....Oh No! that won't do!
She is way too pretty to be in a closet.
Besides, I love and cherish her.

My Cedar Chest
was my Christmas gift from my Daddy
in 1965 I was 17 years old.
Most all young girls at this time period
had cedar chests or Hope Chest.
They were used to fill with a
Trousseau.
definition:  the clothes, household linens and other
belongings collected by a bride for her marriage.

Well my Cedar Chest was filled and it is
still filled but much of it is filled with
memories.

Some time I will show you.
That will be another post.
For now she is in my living room.
And I think she goes very well with
my country vintage style.
It is actually called Early American.
It is a Lane Cedar Chest.
Lane no longer makes cedar chests.
Young women no longer have
Trousseau's
My daughter had one. I made sure of that.

I am also finding places to hang
some of my wall decor.
I hung my cute white mirror
in the den/t.v room.

I sincerely hope you are doing well.
Be sure to stop by again
as I show the progress in
Apt. 157

I'll Just Keep Decorating

Hello my friends!
I hope you are all doing well and
you are safe from all that is happening
in in the world right now.

It does become a little scary.
On top of the Coronavirus
We had a 5.7 earthquake
here in Utah. Oh yes, I
felt the it.  I only live about 15 miles
from the epicenter.
I am ok.
No damage to my apartment.
I had 2 things fall off my wall.
There have been hundreds of aftershocks,

I have got some things I need
to have secured.....this has been
a wake-up call for all of us.
Things can happen with no warning.

My hutches need to be secured to the walls

I have more decorating to do
But I have several rooms I am still working on.
Me and the pups love the Den/T.V Room
The American flag sitting on top
of the hutch is the flag that
draped my Dad's casket when he died.
My Dad was a Veteran of
WWII and the Korean War.

My television sits on my Beautiful Blue
I have my recliner and my Granny's rocker
Which I will show you in another post
Like I said me and the Pups love this room.

You can see my Mom's
Singer Sewing Machine.
My Dad bought it for her when she was
expecting me.  1948
I don't have many things that belonged
to my Mom.  She died way too young.
25 years old, so what I do have I cherish

Well, I will have time to work on
my apartment decorating since
I am not working right now.
I need to finish the wall.

I have so much more for you to see.
And a lot more to do!
For some reason my pictures are
not that good,  I have got to get
use to the lightening in my apartment.

Stay well
I will see you soon!

The Little Things In A Home

Hello my good friends!
Can you believe it is
The last few months are a blur to me.
Too much going on!

I am trying to get my Area 157 decorated
and organized.  I must confess I am not
doing a very good job at either one.

This is my TV Room.
This is where me and the Pups hang out.
We love it!
I am still working on it.

I am finding it really is the little things
that makes a house (Apartment) a Home.

After moving it is hard for me to find the spot
for my little decorating vignettes.

And I have the tendency of over decorating.
I am not a minimalist.  No, sir, not me.

Yes. I have a bunny sitting out.
It just looks so cute on the Little Blue Chair.
I painted my Little Blue Chair last summer.

An empty space is a blank pallet to me.
I have to fill the space with something.
My little table I painted last summer is perfect for
this small empty space in my hallway.

Of course I have to have plates on my walls

Plates are my one collector weakness.
I can't pass up a cute plate.
I think they fill in nicely for a small space
that needs to be brightened up.

Well, I will continue on trying to get
Area (apt.) 157 decorated and organized.

Just a little side note my washing machine
died yesterday.  Why, oh why?
I just spent my money on a new couch.
Now, I have to figure out what to
do about my washing machine.
I have to have one. . . no negotiation on that.

Have a wonderful day!
