A Christmas Doily For The Hutch

Hello, Hello!
I hope you are enjoying this wonderful time of year.
I have just a little something to show you today.
My Christmas Doily
I made it especially for my "Aunt Carol" Hutch.
I used size 10 thread.
A simple little Granny Square
And a lacy boarder.
I really like how it turned out.
I am an "old fashioned" Gal. .
I like to have doilies and table runners.
I have many, many doilies I have crocheted and a lot
That have been given to me.
I come from a long line of crocheters.
I find it very relaxing to work with delicate thread.
To create something so delicate and intricate as a doily
Gives me joy.
Of course for Christmas I wanted red and green.
The green I use is a brighter green.  It goes well with the
Arrangement I have in the sewing drawer.

Please come back.  I like to know you have visited me.

The Touch of Christmas

Hello dear friends. . .I am happy to greet you today.
I hope you are well, and December is being kind to you.
It is a busy time of year. . we often have to stop and remind ourselves
There is a reason we are Celebrating this month.
I try to stay focused and not let things get in my way.
I have really pared down my decorating.
It takes so much time and work.
And I tell myself. . "What goes up must come down."
My decorating may seem very small and simple compared to others.
But, who is comparing?  I just do what I like and leave it at that.
I sized down several years ago. I now live in a condo.
And I love it.  I don't have the room for a large tree.
So my little tree on the console table is just perfect for me.
(as you can see little Teddy is on neighborhood patrol)
This little shelf is so fun to decorate.  I am always changing it out.
And Christmas time is the perfect time to showcase the shelf.
I love it.. . Can you see my cute little birds.
I swear I can hear them singing!
And the beautiful wreath my Friend's daughter made for me
Is such a beautiful touch to the wall.
I made the crocheted afghan that is on the couch.
And the other little throw is a simple fleece that I made.
Teddy and Cash have taken it over.
I really love the scene. . I feel it is simple but beautiful.
I have told you many time, I am a Home Body. .
I love being home.
Of course Christmas time there is no place like home.
I love the evenings when the lights are shining on the tree.
And the glow in the room is so warm, and serene.
Many times, I turn on Christmas music and just listen,
And enjoy the ambiance of my Christmas decorated rooms.
It truly is a magical time of year.
Hugs, to all,

Christmas Decorating The Hutch

Hello my dear friends.  I hope today is a good day for you.
It is Sunday. . .And I love Sunday's.
I think we are very blessed to have a Sunday
Once a week.  For me it truly is a day of rest.
And of course a day of worship.
I just have a few finishing touches to do with my
Christmas Decorating.
I have been a little slow this year.  Oh, good grief,
I am slow every year!
One of the things I love to decorate for holidays,
And particularly Christmas,
Is The Hutch.
I call this my Aunt Carol Hutch. . Why?
Because she had one just like it.
So when I found this at an antique shop a few years ago
I had to have it.
It is so fun to decorate for any holiday.
But of course, Christmas is the best to decorate for.
The little wooden box, is actually the a drawer from my
Grandma's Treadle Sewing Machine.
I like to use it to do arrangements in it.
I think it is a show stopper for sure.
The little singing angels, I have had Forever. . .Really.
They have been with me since I can remember.
For a long time I didn't use them in my decorating,
But now I do, they remind me of another time and place.
Of course Christmas plates adorn this hutch.
You know me,  I have lots of plates.
I could fill many "hutches" with plates.
I also have a lot of Salt and Pepper Shakers.  But, I didn't
Use them this year in most of my decorating.
My little Santa Tea-pot, never sees tea.
Only hot chocolate. . .(I am a Mormon) No tea for me.
My next favorite to decorate is my living room shelf.
But, I will show you it next time.
Whew! I am so glad the decorating part is done.
I love to decorate, but Christmas totally stresses me out.
And this year it has seemed worse for me.
I hope you enjoyed part one of my decorations.
Please do come back. . .
Hugs,

Decorating Coming Right Along. . .NOT!

I am probably the only person out there that
Doesn't have my Christmas Tree up, and all
My decorating done. . .!
I just barely, (1 hour ago) finished taking all the
Autumn and Thanksgiving decoration down.
They are now sitting on my kitchen table.
Heaven only knows when I will get them in their totes.
I have to go down stairs to get the totes and I don't feel like
Doing that right now. . .Just sayin.
I do have one thing for Christmas sitting out.
My friend Dianne, brought me this beautiful wreath.
Her daughter Andrea makes and sells them.
It is absolutely gorgeous!
It is so pretty, I could just leave it up and call it quits. . .!
And NO! it is not going on my door.
The weather is too harsh, so I am keeping it on my wall.
As you can see nothing else has been done.
Oh, well, I will eventually have it completed.
I am slowing down . . .In my younger days, my
Decorations were completed by now.
And I decorated every room in the house.
But, not anymore.  My motto now is
What goes Up must come Down!
But at least I have a beautiful wreath to  inspire me
And maybe give me a push to get things done.
Hope you are progressing faster than me.
Hugs to all,
