Christmas Decorations ~ The End!

Gosh I am just not with it this year.
I have not had the Spirit of Christmas.
I have been so unorganized, I am surprised
I actually pulled it off.
And I have really neglected my decorating
Therefore, I haven't been active on my blog.
I am sorry about that, and I hope you can
Understand. . . sometimes, you have it sometimes you don't.
I will finish up with just a few pictures of my decorating.
Like I said not much got done.
My hutch is always so much fun to decorate.
I love it!
No matter what I do, it is a showcase.
I love to show off my collections. .
(You will notice little Cash wandered into the photo)
Like I said, Christmas decorating didn't turn out the way I had envisioned.
Now Christmas has come and gone. . kind of like a flash!
I do have some ideas for next year.
And I hope I am much more organized and in the Spirit.
I do hope you and yours celebrated in the grandest of fashion
Merry Christmas
And here is to better days ahead!
Love to all of you. . who check on me and are my dear
Blogging friends.  Just a joy to hear from you and see that you have visited.
Hugs,

Christmas Home Decorations ~ The Shelf

Well, I am just a little behind in my posts
I am sure you thought I was long gone right about now!
Nope! I am here, I am just worn out. . .Yes, worn out
So much to do so little time.
I love this time of year,
I love Christmas!
Why, oh why I get myself in such a "dither", I will never know.
I guess it is just me, and that is how it is. .
My shopping is not done, my decorating has just been thrown together,
No baking has even been planned.
There was once a time in my life when I had it all put together.
By now, I could relax and enjoy. . .Oh, who am I kidding?
It has never been that way for me.
Ok, Ok, I will stop my whining and show you some of
My Christmas Home Decorations.
 I don't have a fireplace mantle.
So I use my shelf as my mantle. . .
I love decorating it.
You can see I have my two Santa and child pictures.
I love them so much, they remind me of my own children.
And the other two pictures belonged to my Aunt Carol. .
I cherish these pictures too, they remind me of her.
I just love the shelf decorated for Christmas. .
Lots of pine and berries.
Of course they are faux. . I love my faux!
And the little birds are just the cutest.
I can almost hear them singing.
They are cute little "characters"
As you know I surrounded with "characters".
So the shelf and the little birds are all ready for celebrating.
I love to decorate, I just wish I had more time. .
Since I have been absent from my little blog
I have realized I am really neglectful of Karie's Chic Creations.
Hopefully I will be able to spend more time with all of you.
Hugs, and I hope you will come back
For more of my Christmas Decorating.
Next time it will be my Snowmen I will be showing.

Hello December

December, December!
I can't believe it. . .December is really here.
Oh, my where has the time gone?
Didn't we just celebrate the 4th of July?
Well, time waits for no one,
And I am always running after it.
I guess I had better get busy and start
The December marathon.
Here is a look at some of Last Year's
December.
I love decorating my Aunt Carol Hutch.
I have some new ideas for it this year.

And these little snowmen are some of my favorites also.
For sure I will be using them
Oh, this little table will have a make-over also.
And my shelf is totally different this year.
I have a new shelf.
So be sure to come back. . I have some new ideas to show you.
I appreciate those that check-out my blog.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of blogs
That are much better than mine.
So thank you for choosing to stop and visit.
I look forward to your comments too.
See you later, after I get out of this decorating mess.
Hugs,
D

Photos By KLJ

Oh dear I have been neglectful. .
Sorry about that.
I have been over my head in projects
And with my health not as good as usual
It has been hard to keep up with things. .
I hope you will forgive me.
Here is a little peek of what I have been doing
My children. . .photo shoot for Christmas.
Nothing professional, just plain home-made.
Or should I say. . .Momma Made.
I did it for pure pleasure.. .so fun to take pictures of your own
It was a fun Saturday tromping through the snow and the fields
And hills of our little part of the world.
Beauty right in our own back yard. . no back drops necessary.
I do this just for fun. . .for my family
Making memories through the lens of my camera.
Hope you enjoy. . Please come back again.

November Changes

Well hello my friends,
So glad you stopped by.
Really, I am glad you stopped to see me.
I have made a few changes in my living room
My living room is not a fancy room.
It is the "Living" room.
This is where I spend a lot a time. . .
Oh, I have a lovely family room.
I will show you one of these days.
But, I like to be where the action is. .
I live to look out my big front window. . and I live to
Be close to all my rooms. . .
So. . .my television is in my living room.
And good heavens I won't show you my chair.
I think I have turned into Archie Bunker or Frazier's father.
I love my chair.
Anyhow.. . .My television is in the "make believe" cabinet.
It had cute doors on it . . . But
When the doors were open you couldn't see the little tables on both sides.
So, I decided to change things, and I took the doors off
Now my television is bare. . .
I rather like it this way.  The open doors don't get in the way
Oh, one of these days I will have a "nice" t.v. cabinet.
But for now this cheap DI $8.00 painted one will have to do.
I did make a few changes. . .not much
I stayed with my fall decorations, and added my
Thanksgiving things.
I am still a sucker for holiday decorations. .
I live a lone, and the grand kids are growing up
But, I still have to bring out the holiday decorations I have had for years.
Maybe it is because they hold so many memories for me.
Of times long past when my children were young. .
And delighted so much in decorating the house.
Or is it still the child in me?

No matter what the reason is. . I hope I am able to continue to
Decorate my home, the way I want it done.
I am by far NOT a home interior designer. .
My goodness my humble home would never be recognized by anyone
But myself. . .so be it. . it is HOME to me.
After seeing the devastation of the storm in the Philippine's
I am so thankful to have a cozy, warm, lovely home.
I hope you will stop by again.  I enjoy the company. .
Hugs,

New Little Babies

Oh, I must, I must
Introduce you to my new little fur babies.
Ted and Cash
I have been so lonely since I lost my little Zoey.
Oh, yes I have my children, but they have their own homes
I have just felt such a loss, and an empitness
I needed energy, life motion in my home.
I didn't think I could ever have another little Furry Baby
But these two little fellows came into my life
And I am happy and my heart is filled with love again.
No more lonely nights, no more empty house
They are young and full of life and they love me.
I am thrilled to have my new little Fur Babies.
I am sure you will see more of them.

Gratitude

For this month of
Thankfulness
Each day I have been sharing the things
That I consider a great blessing to me.
I want to have a heart full of
Gratitude. . Not just this month but always.
A heart that is full of gratitude can do so much good for us
I want to have ears to hear and eyes to see the great
Blessings that come to me each day.
And I want to express that gratitude to the Lord.
I want a heart full of Gratitude.
Hugs,

A Pillow A Chair and A Table

Just a few of the little projects I have done in the
Last month or so.
A Pillow, A Chair, and A Table.
I haven't been feeling very well lately.
Lots of doctor's visits and to top it off a dentist visit.
But, I am always in need of keeping my hands busy.
I have had this little half table for quite a few years.
It was painted black.
My Auntie Colleen gave it to me
I wasn't too happy with the black. .
So as always a little paint takes care of that.
You can't see that I also "antiqued" it.
I just use, Minwax, Providence Stain.  I love the color it gives.
This little chair is also from my Auntie,
I love the color. And I love child size chairs.
The pillow I did the hand-work . . it reads
"The harvest of true friendship
Is the Most blessed of all."
I believe this to be true.
I don't know what I would do without my friends
They are such a great support and comfort to me.
I am truly blessed because I have friends.
So even in the midst of not feeling well, working full-time
And all the other things that go on in life.
I find the time to relax. . and enjoy working with my hands.
Thanks you for coming by.
I certainly hope you will stop by again.
Remember if you have friends you are blessed.

Blog Header For a Dummie

I have fiddled and fiddled with my blog header.
Looked at various blogs to see what they have.
And searched on how to make my own header.
I even ask for suggestions from friends on  Facebook.
I just try as I go
It is total trial and error for me
Here are a few of the ones I came up with.
Just wasn't right. . Seemed too much
And someone said I needed the title of my blog
To really stand out.
No, No won't do at all.
Another thing I have a hard time is getting the right size.
To tell you the truth I would like to have someone who knows
What they are doing design my blog. . .
But, alas, my blog is just for enjoyment. .
Not a money maker. .
So I just can't justify paying someone to do the designing.
Any hoooo, I will be satisfied with the Header I made.
And hopefully learn along the way
So next month when I change it I will know a little more of what I am doing.
Hugs to you all.

Home and Family

Hello, my dear friends. .
I wanted to share a few thoughts I have had today about
My Home and my Family.
"Home is Where Your Heart is".
My family is the heart of my
Home.
There is no where else I want to be than with my family
Where they are.... I want to be.
I am so thankful to have the beautiful family I have.
Four children, their spouses and nine grandchildren.
I certainly have a nest full.
The small subway art above the shelf
Has a few words that are symbolic of my family
Faith
Comfort
Forgiveness
Joy
Hugs and kisses
Loud
(oh believe me we are loud, when we are all together)
Home
Love
I am blessed to have my children and I live in the same town.
I cherish every moment I have with them.
And pray I have many many days, months and years with them.
I have tried to liveby these standards,
Nothing on this earth is more important than
The love of my children.
A clean warm home, where love is spoken,
Where broken hearts are mended.
And where the Love of God and His Commandments are taught.
Where ever I may roam, my heart is always drawn to
HOME!

Out And About On Main Street

It has been a gorgeous day where I live.
I love this time of year and today has proved why I love it.
Blue sky, trees changing colors, the air is crisp. .
So much beauty all around.
A day off from the regular schedule was what I needed.
I had lunch with a sweet friend yesterday.
And today lunch with another sweet friend.
I was out and about. . .
I did some window shopping. .
Do you ever do that?
Now that Internet shopping is so accessible, I seldom just
Walk down my little Main Street and window shop.
I love to see the small town "Mom and Pop" shops.
It is mostly "Mom" shops.
It is where everyone knows your name. . .!
This is Tracy. . .She is the creative genius behind
Ellie Jean's
I met Tracy when she just started her shop.
I went in to see if she would sell some of my crochet items.
And she did!
Since that day she has expanded and moved to a bigger place.
She has some adorable things. . .new, vintage, handmade. .
Fresh flower arrangements. . or beautiful faux arrangements.
And she even sells Cup Cakes. . ya yummy Cup Cakes. .
My dream was to own my own little shop. . but
It never happened for me.
Little shops are a lot of work. . but so worth it.
Small old Main Streets like in my town have a hard time.
Small town USA is fragile.
I hope we can all stop and do some window shopping
Say hello and buy a few things from the small shops
Shops like Ellie Jean's
Are unique in and of themselves. .
Many times they sell homemade things. ..  the one of a kind.
The things that are made by loving hands.
Made by people who are craftsmen (women) and artists
Let's all try to keep them Open. .
The places where they know us by name. .
The Small Shops
On Small Town Main Streets.
In the USA.

If you are ever passing through my little un-pronounceable town
(Tooele)
Be sure to stop by. .
Hugs
