A True Tea Cup Collector

Well, I have turned into a true
Tea Cup Collector. . .
I have always loved Tea Cups.
(not a tea or coffee drinker)
I love them for their beauty. . .
They are so delicate
And so pretty.
I have some that have sentimental
value to me and I adore them.
Now, I want more. .
Oh, good grief I shouldn't be collecting
Another thing
But, my whole idea behind this
Collecting of Tea Cups is
My Granddaughters!
I will give them as gifts to my Granddaughters. .
So here are a couple I recently purchased from E-bay

 Noritake

 So pretty

I want my Granddaughters to have
Something to Remember Me By.
The doily was crocheted by me a few years ago.

I am hooking this up to Martha at

Any Old Can Will Do

You really know you are a junker crafter
When you make something out of an old tin can!
I just hope I don't become obsessed collecting old cans!
I used fabric, burlap and buttons on these cans.
I thought they would be cute for a 4th of July table decoration
Yes, I think months ahead sometimes when I am creating something.
I am actually planting them with sunflower seeds
I have inserted a plastic cup, with a hole in the bottom for drainage.
I hope my idea turns out.
Oh, well if the seeds don't grow, there are always
Faux flowers. . .
I think I will link this up with the Pringle Challenge at
I hope she will let me link more than one. . .
I am still working on the Pringle Can. . .
Come back and see what I have done with it. . K

Changing, Adding, Fussing

I am always Changing things around
Or I am fussing. . .over some little vignette
Or adding something or maybe even taking away.
I know I am not alone, most of us do it.
Seldom is something left the same
For very long
A few little changes took place recently in my
Dining area, nothing big, but change nonetheless.
 I love decorating my buffet.
It is so fun and so pretty.
Even this little corner I love.
Hardly anyone sees it, but  me.
I do think I am going to re-paint the table.
I don't want black anymore. . .
See, I am always changing.
I recently changed the plant stand
I painted it a couple of months ago
Then I found this cute pot at Hobby Lobby
Perfect for this plant.
My round oak dining table is always being changed.
This is the latest vignette I put together.
Mmmm it is eye-candy for me.
I really like it.
My counted cross stitch that I did
Says SPRING. .
But right now I have snow!

Side view of the centerpiece

This little space in my home
Makes me happy
Oh, I love the other rooms too
But, this one is cheery and so fun to decorate.
When you walk in my front door is is what you see.
I have some plans for other spaces in my home.
But, I am waiting for nice weather.
Some of the changes will be time consuming.
I will show you when they are completed. .
Do you like to Change, Add and Fuss?
I hope you will come back again. . . . .K

Springtime In Utah

It is April 7th
The calendar says it should be
Spring
We should be enjoying tulips and daffodils. .
Sunshine and a little Rain. . .
But, I live in Utah
And this is what it looks like today
In my little corner of the world. . .
 April Showers mixed with Snow!
I keep telling myself we live in the desert
We need the moisture. . . Really it is a blessing.
This is what the storm clouds looked like
I like to watch the storm clouds coming in. .
The Weather is interesting to me.
I live in a very weather diverse area.
You just never know what is going to happen.
 Storm clouds tumbling across the
Great Salt Lake
This looked so pretty
The American Flag
And
 The Oquirrh Mountains
For those not familiar with the names in this area. . .
Oquirrh is pronounced O ker!
I have a new camera and I want to take pictures of everything
So forgive me for being a pictureholic. (my own word)

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?
Please do come back. . . . .K

April Tablescape

I haven't done a Tablescape for several months.
I feel so inadequate with my simple
Table Settings. . .
I love doing them, I am just not good at it.
I love looking at Tablescapes
Hosts a Great Tablescape Party
You have just got to see the beautiful
I am in awe at the talent and beauty.
Click HERE to see them. .
So here goes with a few pictures of my
April Tablescape.
I just got a new camera and I am still learning
That is why there are so many pictures!
My Dining Area. . . Nothing fancy.
But, it is home for me.
 Just a very simple Tablescape.
All of the plates and dishes are from DI
I just loved this china plate and I had to have it.
DI of course.
Even the little egg holders I found at DI
The rose salt and pepper shakers were a gift.
What! You have never used paper napkins?
Oh, my!  I will be banned for life from the Tablescaping Society!
 This platter is Homer Laughlin
Also found at DI (thrift store)
I love the color. . Turquoise. . .one of my faves.
 The detail of the plates.
I use them for everyday and for best.
It doesn't matter to me. . . . I like them.
So there you have my
April Tablescape.
It isn't much. . . .maybe some day I will have the
Knack to set a beautiful table.
So. . .I am linking this to
Also because I have used all things Thrifty I am linking to:
And I will be linking to:

I hope you will come back again. . . .K

Tea Cup Swap Has Been Sent

I am participating in Martha and Terri's
Easter Tea Cup Swap
I just love Tea Cups
I don't drink coffee or tea,
But I love Tea Cups.
So I decided to join the
I just sent it today. . .
Oh, I can't show you the tea cup and saucer I sent. .
Oh, No!
I want it to be a surprise for my partner.
It works this way,
She and I are partners, and she will send me a tea cup also.
I will show you just a few of the things I put in the basket.
I filled it with all kinds of goodies.
I really liked the tea cup I sent her. . .
I had a hard time parting with it.
But, I know it will go to a good home.
You know I get attached to "things" (weird)!
So, off in the mail this cute little basket went
It is going to Lynn in Pennsylvania.
I hope it arrives safely
And most of all I hope she likes her little
Tea Cup and Saucer.
I am linking this with
Martha's Favorites/Tea Cup Tuesday
Even though I am not showing the tea cup. . . .
It is there!

Great-Grandmother's China Plate

Grandmother's are such a blessing to
A Child.
And to have a Great-Grandmother
Is just that much more special & blessed. . .
I was very fortunate to have both of my
Grandma's
And I had three of my Great-Grandma's
Each one having a special place in my life.
And each one sharing cherished memories with me.
As I child I was particularly close to my
Mother's Grandmother.
Great-Grandma Pickering
 She was beautiful. . . !
She was a gentle little Grandma
She was "little", she wasn't even 5 feet tall. . .
As a little child I liked to sit by her on the couch
because her feet didn't touch the floor, just like mine.
As a child I liked to sit at her kitchen table
And have her homemade bread. . .  toasted
She taught me how to dunk it in my hot chocolate.
She taught me other things as well.
This is a china plate that belonged to her.
It is very old and fragile. . .
Great Grandma would be over 130 years old!
I just have one plate. . . . my great-aunt has the set.
I have very few things that belonged to my
Great-Grandma Pickering
So this china plate is very cherished by me.
Most of all I have cherished memories of my
Great-Grandma Pickering
And I like to think that I inherited some of her
Gentle, Creativity.
She loved her family, and you always knew they
were the most important "things" in her life.
A gentle pat on my little hand let me know
Great-Grandma Pickering loved me!
Did you have a great-grandma?
I hope you will come back again. . . . .K
