The Sunday of Christmas

I love the Sunday before
Christmas
What is Christmas without Church Services?
Today was an exceptionally good day at my Church. . .
The talks were wonderful
The choir was out of this world
The children singing brought tears to my eyes
And everyone singing the
Traditional Christmas Songs
Sounded like Angels.
My Heart Was Full
And Tears were shed!
I gave the lesson today to all the Young Women in my Ward
Each Young Woman received a candle which had a poem
attached to it.
This is what was on the tag:

The Christmas Candle
May the Light that shone on the Christ Child
So many Christmas' ago
Fall on you this Christmas Night
And set your face aglow.
May it shine from your eyes
May it rest in your mind
May it burn in your Spirit bright
May the Peace it spoke to a weary wold
Bring Joy to your Heart tonight.

As we Celebrate Christmas with
Family and Friends
May we have Him in our Hearts
Jesus Christ Is
The Reason For The Season

Christmas Parties Are So Fun

It is always fun to join in the celebration
Of the Season
With good friends. . .
Me and this group of ladies have been
Friends since Childhood. . . .
Our friendship seems to grow
Sweeter with age!
 After Dinner Chatter
We do a lot of chatting. . .
 This is our sweet Hostess
And these are pictures of her beautiful home.
In the Family Room a display of trees
 I love the entry way.
Do you love the Santa or what?
She has a beautiful stairway that leads to the next level
(sorry I didn't get a picture of it.)
The large Christmas tree in the formal living room
 The Nativity Scene is Beautiful
Displayed on velvet  green leaves. . .
She has a lot of darling decorations she has
collected over the years.
Every room is decorated with  Christmas decor. .
 This Christmas Cactus is huge!
I have never seen one so big and pretty
She said it is over 30 years old
In the summer they take it out on the deck
And bring it in when it gets too cold outside.
Oh, the evening was wonderful. .
I love being with these dear "old" friends.
We will be doing this for many more years
We love being together.
Especially at Christmas Time.
Merry Christmas

My Handmade Nativity

Isn't this the
Reason we Celebrate this Season?
 Displayed in my Home
Is the Nativity Scene
I made in 1985
 Displayed on the beautiful
Side-board
My Aunt and Cousin
made for me
 The doily I also crocheted.
 The Wise Men
 Wise Men Still Seek Him
 The Humble Shepherd's
And The Angel announcing His Birth
This is the Season we Pause from Our hectic Life
To Celebrate His Wondrous Birth
 Reverently My
Nativity
Symbolizes my Love for Him
For it is He who was born in
Bethlehem
Jesus Christ
The Great Redeemer
The Son of God
The Savior of The World

I will be linking to these fabulous parties:

Anniversary Poinsettia

Oh, how I love a beautiful
Poinsettia!
Next to the Christmas Tree
I think a Poinsettia
says
CHRISTMAS!
 I am a December Bride
So, my husband always gave me a
Beautiful Poinsettia
On our Anniversary. . . .
My husband is deceased now, for 19 years. . .
So, I have just always bought my own Poinsettia.
Well this year on December 9th my thoughtful
Son, and his wife brought me a huge gorgeous Poinsettia
Look at the leaves on this beautiful plant.
It adds to the festive season of
Christmas
And helps to make my home beautiful. . . .
Mm! Isn't it beautiful on my dining table.
Thanks you Mathew and Melanie
For thinking of me and how much I love Poinsettia's
Especially on a day that is so important to me.

Christmas Cloche'

My Christmas Cloche'
It adds a unique classy look to my
Christmas Decor
Oh, it is just a cloche' I created.
But, I like it and it serves a beautiful purpose.
I change it all the time. . .
Of course, it is decorated with Christmas
Ornaments and Greenery
at this time of year. . .
Introduced me to cloche's. . .
I had seen a few in bloggerville but didn't realize
I could make my own. . . .
Then Alison at House of Hepworth
Showed how to make them out of cheese domes
Ye, Cheese domes!
(This one is on a pedestal plate I made)
I know my cloche is nothing compared to so many others
But, I like it. . .
I have it sitting on a table in my hallway
Filled with festive holiday greenery and Christmas tree ornaments.
Also with the cloche is this little wicker tray
Filled with different decorations.
Makes a pretty vignette.
I am linking my cloche vignette with
Marty's Cloche Party
You should check out some of the gorgeous Cloches
I am also linking to
House of Hepworth
There's a lot of Christmas decorating ideas
in Bloggerville right now. . .
Merry Christmas

Oh, Christmas Tree

What is Christmas
Without a Christmas Tree?
Well,
A few years ago I down-sized.
After living alone in a large house I moved to a small space.
When Christmas came around I didn't know
where I would ever fit a tree.
I thought maybe I would do away with a Christmas tree
Just decorate, but No Tree!
Oh, that was never going to happen.
My children, and my grandchildren would never allow that!
 So I down-sized the Tree.
It isn't the same as my large tree,
But, I am ok with it. . .
And it gives my home a festive Christmas feeling.
I really changed things, , , , I went with a silver and white theme
I had always had a "Memory Tree"
All the ornaments I had collected over the many years. . .
But, I just decided I needed a change.
I love a Christmas Tree in the evenings when the lights are on
It gives such warm glow to the room . . . .
These little Snowmen characters frolic under the tree.
They crack me up. . .  Aren't they cute?
This little Precious Moment Christmas Boy is checking out
a little critter. . .  My Grandson gave that to me one Christmas. . .
The Snow Globe adorns the table also.
There is that precious little boy again.
The Spirit of Christmas is filling my home with JOY!
Hope you feel it too. . . . .

I am going to be Linking this post to several blogs
Be sure to visit them . . . . They work so hard. . .  Thanks gals.

December 9, 1966

December 9, 1966
Was a long time ago, 44 years to be exact.
But it is etched in my memory as a day
Never to Be Forgotten
My Wedding Day

I Am A
DECEMBER BRIDE
I was young, ever so young
and he was so handsome!
We had been high school sweethearts
He was and is the Love of My Life

I only got to have 25 years with him.
6 Weeks after our 25th Wedding Anniversary
He died. . .
These pictures were taken on our 25th Anniversary

My Children and I have mourned his loss
He was a wonderful father!
The world became dimmer for me and for them the day he died.
But, I know that someday my tears will be wiped away
and he will hold me in his arms.
All my earthly sorrow and pain will be taken away
and I will live with him eternally. . . .
To this beautiful man I say
Thank you!
You made my life so much better
You Loved Me.
Someday My Love We Will Meet Again!
