Trying To Stay Strong

Oh my dear friends, I pray
you are all doing well.
These are truly hard times,
but I know we can be strong and
The Lord will help us endure.

On of my favorite scriptures is
2 Corinthians 8-13
This is a beautiful discourse from
Paul of the New Testament.
Despite our desire to have our trials and pains
taken from us,
it doesn’t always happen.
Sometimes all we can do is press forward
with faith  and take comfort in knowing
that when we turn to Christ,
He can give us the strength
we need to overcome.

He will give us strength beyond our
own understanding.

I am trying to stay busy.
as you all know I moved a few months ago.
I am still putting things away.
And trying to find a home for every thing.
I must say, some things are moved
because it just doesn't feel right.
And other things are temporarily
put in a place until I can find a home for it.

Well this little beauty didn't have
a home, she was in a closet!

.....Oh No! that won't do!
She is way too pretty to be in a closet.
Besides, I love and cherish her.

My Cedar Chest
was my Christmas gift from my Daddy
in 1965 I was 17 years old.
Most all young girls at this time period
had cedar chests or Hope Chest.
They were used to fill with a
Trousseau.
definition:  the clothes, household linens and other
belongings collected by a bride for her marriage.

Well my Cedar Chest was filled and it is
still filled but much of it is filled with
memories.

Some time I will show you.
That will be another post.
For now she is in my living room.
And I think she goes very well with
my country vintage style.
It is actually called Early American.
It is a Lane Cedar Chest.
Lane no longer makes cedar chests.
Young women no longer have
Trousseau's
My daughter had one. I made sure of that.

I am also finding places to hang
some of my wall decor.
I hung my cute white mirror
in the den/t.v room.

I sincerely hope you are doing well.
Be sure to stop by again
as I show the progress in

I'll Just Keep Decorating

Hello my friends!
I hope you are all doing well and
you are safe from all that is happening
in in the world right now.

It does become a little scary.
On top of the Coronavirus
We had a 5.7 earthquake
here in Utah. Oh yes, I
felt the it.  I only live about 15 miles
from the epicenter.
I am ok.
No damage to my apartment.
I had 2 things fall off my wall.
There have been hundreds of aftershocks,

I have got some things I need
to have secured.....this has been
a wake-up call for all of us.
Things can happen with no warning.

My hutches need to be secured to the walls

I have more decorating to do
But I have several rooms I am still working on.
Me and the pups love the Den/T.V Room
The American flag sitting on top
of the hutch is the flag that
draped my Dad's casket when he died.
My Dad was a Veteran of
WWII and the Korean War.

My television sits on my Beautiful Blue
I have my recliner and my Granny's rocker
Which I will show you in another post
Like I said me and the Pups love this room.

You can see my Mom's
Singer Sewing Machine.
My Dad bought it for her when she was
expecting me.  1948
I don't have many things that belonged
to my Mom.  She died way too young.
25 years old, so what I do have I cherish

Well, I will have time to work on
my apartment decorating since
I am not working right now.
I need to finish the wall.

I have so much more for you to see.
And a lot more to do!
For some reason my pictures are
not that good,  I have got to get
use to the lightening in my apartment.

Stay well
I will see you soon!

The Little Things In A Home

Hello my good friends!
Can you believe it is
The last few months are a blur to me.
Too much going on!

I am trying to get my Area 157 decorated
and organized.  I must confess I am not
doing a very good job at either one.

This is my TV Room.
This is where me and the Pups hang out.
We love it!
I am still working on it.

I am finding it really is the little things
that makes a house (Apartment) a Home.

After moving it is hard for me to find the spot
for my little decorating vignettes.

And I have the tendency of over decorating.
I am not a minimalist.  No, sir, not me.

Yes. I have a bunny sitting out.
It just looks so cute on the Little Blue Chair.
I painted my Little Blue Chair last summer.

An empty space is a blank pallet to me.
I have to fill the space with something.
My little table I painted last summer is perfect for
this small empty space in my hallway.

Of course I have to have plates on my walls

Plates are my one collector weakness.
I can't pass up a cute plate.
I think they fill in nicely for a small space
that needs to be brightened up.

Well, I will continue on trying to get
Area (apt.) 157 decorated and organized.

Just a little side note my washing machine
died yesterday.  Why, oh why?
I just spent my money on a new couch.
Now, I have to figure out what to
do about my washing machine.
I have to have one. . . no negotiation on that.

Have a wonderful day!

Apt. Is Becoming Home Sweet Home

Hello my friends!
Well it is Valentine's and President's Weekend
And I hope you are all doing fine.

My day so far has been relaxing and very quiet.
It is nice weather in my little spot of earth, so
that makes the day very nice considering it is February and
there is still a lot of winter weather to come.

I am slowly making my little Apartment
Home Sweet Home.

One of the things I have wanted has finally
arrived. . . A Brand New
Sofa!

I am so happy and pleased.
It really makes my living room more cozy and beautiful.
Before I moved I gave my sofa to my friend Trish.
I didn't think my living room would be big enough to
have a sofa (couch) in it along with other furniture.

I thought chairs could replace a sofa.  Well, I didn't
like it at all.  And my living room is large enough to
have a sofa along with other furniture.
I especially worried about my round
coffee table, not having room for it.

But no worries. . . sofa and round coffee table
go very well together.  (Little Teddy is showing off)
 I am actually contemplating
painting or dark staining  my coffee table.
(What do you think?)

Oh, I am feeling Home!
I can't believe how much room I have.
Most of all I feel happy in my
Area 157.

Something I was so upset about doing has actually
become such a blessing to me.
It always amazes me how somethings
like moving, making a change you are fearful of,
can turn to be a good thing.

I will be showing more of my Area 157 as I get
more decorating done in the other rooms.
My bedroom is about ready to show.
I can't find my Quilt that goes on the top,
nor can I find the bedskirt.  It is somewhere in
one of the many boxes.
And I am still working on the kitchen.

I was so excited to show you my new sofa.

Enjoy your weekend!
I will.....

Area 157 0r Known As Apt. 157

Hello
Well, I made it through January!
It seems it is the longest month.
I am glad when February arrives.
The last few months have been hard months
for me and my family.
So many changes.

Change is hard for me.
I changed where I live.
I moved!
Same town, still close to my children.
But none the less it is change.
Moving is a nightmare!
I now live at Apt. 157
or I call it Area 157.

My place isn't as small as I thought it would be.
This is a picture of one corner of my living room.

There are things I don't really care for. . . but I can live with it.
You will notice my mauve chairs are back again.
I didn't think I could fit my couch in the living room,
so I thought I would just have a grouping of chairs....well,
the living room is much bigger than I expected.
And I miss a couch. . . so,
the chair grouping is only temporary. . . I have a couch
ordered.  It will be here in a couple of weeks.

The little Pups have had to adjust to the move.
Bless their little hearts, they are sure a comfort to me.
We are still making adjustments.

So there ya go. . .a very small tour of
Area 157.

I will show more as I get rooms decorated.
It takes time.  I think I want something a certain way
and I get it all put together....and I don't like it.
So then I am redecorating.

I am very thankful to have this nice apartment.
Housing is expensive, very expensive
here in Utah.  And there is a shortage
of affordable low income housing.
I have been blessed to find this one.
Angels were helping me.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Hutch

Hello my friends.
I said I would be back really soon.
Well, it takes me a little longer
than I anticipate.
I am older, and I run out of energy
much faster than I want to.

So as most of you know I moved.
I am just down the street from where I was.
But now I am in an Apartment.
It is very nice, but . . . Well,
let's just say I am thankful to have a place
to live, that I can afford, and it is clean
and comfortable for me and my
Pups Teddy and Cash.

I am gradually getting it decorated.
So far I have several decorated areas.
My Hutch
is one of my favorite pieces of furniture
So. . . here she is my
Aunt Carol Hutch.

I like her all decked out in the Blue's
I will show you the rest of the small
Dinette
(I guess that is what you call the area)
I am still trying to figure out what I want on the walls.
Gradually it will all come together.....
It is a lot of work to not only make the move
But, unpacking the boxes and trying to find a spot
for everything. . .I pray this is my last move.

I hope you are well and comfortable.
Please come back again.

I'll Be Back ~ SOON!

It has been a busy couple of months.
I am sorry I have been missing
But. . . life happens!

I will be back soon!

I will have new posts of my new place.
It is small, it is not what I really want in life. .
But. . .I am ok.
I will make it my
HOME
