Well, Hello My Friends,
This post was suppose to be on my blog
Monday. . But. . .
Trust me to be a day late or maybe two.
Life just gets in the way. .
Or am I the only one that that happens to?
I am part of a Blog Tour
I was invited by
Be sure to check her blog out.
She is a sweetheart and has a beautiful blog.
I am so surprised to be part of this tour.
So. . .Let me introduce myself.
I am Karie.
Just a plain simple person who decided in 2009 to start blogging.
Karie's Chic Creations was born.
I love being a woman, a wife, (though my husband is deceased)
I am a Mom to four wonderful children,
Three boys and one daughter, who have brought me more
Happiness than I could ever imagine.
They are all married with families of their own.
I am blessed to have nine, grandchildren. .
Grandma-hood is the best.
Love those grands so much.
My oldest grandchild is 22 years old and my youngest is 8
My family and my faith our the two guiding forces in my life.
I am a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I am a Mormon.
I began blogging because I wanted to share my passion for
Homemaking. . .It is a noble calling to be a Homemaker.
I feel it is a blessing and a privilege, and I am happy to be
Making my house a HOME.
So come on in. . .All are Welcome.
My style is very eclectic. . .What can I say. I a little bit of everything.
I love to find old things and make them beautiful again.
I have been painting furniture before it was the "in" thing to do.
Although not everything in my home is painted.
I like the beauty of wood also. Nothing like the beauty of wood.
You can also see that I love color. . .I think the world is a colorful place.
So why shouldn't my home be colorful.
I have to say I love Blue, all shades, but I also love Reds and Yellow
And lets throw in some Green, and Orange. . .just whatever fits my fancy.
The little stool in the picture is one of my first Blog projects.
Quadrafoil was popular so I free-handed the design on the stool.
Nothing stays the same for long. . I am always re-arranging
Swapping things out. . soon I will be doing my Fall decorating.
It happens to be my favorite.
I just completed my wall gallery.
I really do like it. Let me tell you,
I would drive a professional picture hanger nuts.
I eyeball everything. . .I never lay it out first, nor do I measure.
I just say Hmmm, I think I would like that frame here. .
And I hammer a nail in the wall.
There ya go!
In this picture you can see the two little Terrorists on the arm of the couch.
They are on neighborhood patrol.
Nothing in the neighborhood gets past them.
They are my little fur-babies. And I adore them.
Teddy Roosevelt, and Johnny Cash.
I just don't know what I would do without them.
What is my creative process?
I don't know. . .I just do what I want to do when I want to do it.
Although I do have to get the "feel", and I study things out in my mind.
So, I guess I do have a process of sorts.
I think I do OK, flying by the seat of my pants.
Decorating my home is not my only passion.
I am what you would call a jack of all trades and master of none.
I crochet, sew, paint, embroidery, quilt, scrapbook, and photography.
I dabble in a lot of things. . .and I like them all.
"If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report
I will seek after those things."
Through my blog, I hope to share some happiness and joy.
I know that life can be hard, and we all carry our own burdens,
And sometimes I will talk about mine.
But for the most part, I try to stay positive, and grateful
Did I mention I am also a collector of many things.
I love going to thrift stories, antique stores, flea markets, and yard sales.
I have found some great treasures in my "junk hunt".
I love being in nature. . It gives me peace.
I am amazed at the beautiful world I live in.
So much to see and to enjoy.
So here you have the story. . behind the Blog
I want to thank those who invited me to open my blog to you.
And to introduce myself.
I hope you will come back again, and join with me as I
Continue to make my House a Home.
There are some blogs I have followed since my beginnings.

Jann has a great vintage style and I love it.
I have followed Shiela from the start.
I also like

Coming across a new blog I want to follow.

I am amazed at the creative force out there.
We are all making the world a beautiful place.

You home looks so cute and like you I love painted but also love the look of wood. I think homemaking is something to be proud of, and I think we are coming back to that. I also consider homemaker artist too, so many creative aspects to it. It was nice getting to know a little about you.

Karie, I enjoyed this post so much! I love the names of your fur babies! I too am a color girl and I feel like we have so much in common. Not only our love of the gospel, but I dabble in a lot of things also. Don't feel as though I master any. lol! I agree that motherhood and being a homemaker is truly a blessing. I am so sorry, I don't think I realized that you had lost your hubby. So glad that you have your wonderful children and grands! Thanks so much for the shout out and I appreciate you linking up to SYC.

Karie, while reading your blog I was struck with all the similarities we share. I have 8 grandchildren ages 9-23, my favorite color is blue and I painted furniture when it was totally not popular - especially white, and I am a jack of all trades master of none with my crocheting, embroidery, painting, scrapbooking, photography, sewing, and so on. I love your blog and your style. Cathy
ReplyDeleteI love you're blog. I love your home. I love you.
