AUTUMN---Knocking On The Door

There is a feeling in the air. . and it is crisp and cool.
To me it feels like
Autumn!
I am just afraid summer is going out the back door. .
She may have already gone.
After several rain storms,
The weather here is much cooler than normal.
And I feel it. . . .!
It always amazes me how we "feel" the season. .
Before it even shows definite signs, we feel it in the air.
Of course a sure sign is Sunflowers.
And they are popping up all over.
I have told myself "no, no not yet!"
But no matter how much I say it. .
Fall or Autumn is in the air.
I really haven't decorated for Fall/Autumn
Yet!
But, I bet this next week, I will start adding a few fall-ish things.
I love to decorate for Fall/Autumn.
I love the warm colors of the season.
So. . .I had better get my projects finished before I am
Onto another season, and new projects.
I have a few ideas swirling in my head.
I had better get going on some of the ideas or
You will be seeing them next year.
It seems I am always a season late. . .
I just don't understand.
I did get a sewing project finished, and I am excited to show you.
I haven't taken any pictures yet. . so you will have to come back
To check it out.  Nothing fancy. .
I am on a sewing kick right now. . .I even bought some
Christmas fabric yesterday. .
Oh, good grief!
More projects swirling in my head.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
And be sure to stop by soon.
Hugs,

CRISTIE'S HOME

Can I just say I admire those
Who take on the challenge of living in an old home.
I have showed you the Taylor Home a few days ago,
And now I want to introduce you to another old home.
Cristie's Home
My dear friend Cristie took this old home and turned it into
One of the cutest beauties in my hometown.
She has done most of the work herself.
Like so many of us she is a single woman, doing her best
Trying to make her home and her surroundings more beautiful.
Cristie has beautiful flourishing flower beds and pathways of plants.
She is handy at building things.
(Something I am not good at)
I love this. . . So charming!
And yes, her pathways are surrounded with beautiful plants.
I love all the cute garden decor she has.
Very rustic and olden. . .Mmmm...so pretty.
Is this not the cutest? How the ivy has grown up the wall.
The birdhouses are nestled in with the ivy.
Nature has it own style doesn't it?
I love her little garden shed.
Hummm...maybe I will paint stripes on mine.
It was so fun taking pictures of her yard.
So much to see.
I am amazed at all that she does and can accomplish.
When I was taking the pictures Cristie was not at home.
So I didn't get any pictures of the inside.
That will be for another day.
The inside is just as charming and unique as the outside.
There are so many homes, that I want to show you.
I love to see people take such good care of their surroundings.
There is something about the character of a person who
Takes pride in having a well maintained yard and home.
I know for myself, there is a sense of peace and accomplishment.
As I tend to my natural surroundings I feel my life is in order.
Thank you for stopping by.
Please come back again.
Today I am sewing. . . let's see if I have it ready to show you.
Hugs,

The Taylor Home

As many of you know I love to return to my
Motherland. . . .
Well, that is what I call my hometown of
Payson. . .
I have lived away from there for man, many years.
My heart will always be there.
I think it is just a cute hometown.
Problem is. . .it has changed just like me.
I have wonderful memories of my childhood
Growing up there was wonderful.
My ancestors first settled the town. . way back in the
Mid-1800's
Payson
Is my Motherland. . it always will be.
One of the things I love so much about my
Hometown
Is the cute well taken care of, "old homes".
Many of the old Pioneer homes have been preserved so well.
So. . . . . .I visited a home that I am very fond of.
I have childhood memories of this home,
And the people that lived there.
The Taylor Home.
And it is still occupied by a Taylor
Carol and Glen own this beautiful home.
Carol's grandfather built the home more than 100 years ago.
Carol's mother and father lived in the home also
And this is where Carol was raised.
The Taylor's are very connected to me and my family
Carol's Grandma Taylor was my Great-Grandpa's sister.
Carol's father was my grandmother's first cousin.
And Carol's brother and my Dad were best friends,
And Carol's niece is my best friend.
Whew. . .did ya catch all that?
I love when families cherish their heritage. . .and take pride in their homes.
An older home is a lot harder to maintain.
These old homes were not built for our modern times.
But, many people take on the task of preserving the history
And beauty of a home that has been the sanctuary for families.
If only the walls could talk.

Of course the Taylor home has had many changes
In the past 100 years.
All these changes have added to the history of the home.
Later on I will show you the inside of the home.
Carol has decorated it with charm and warmth.
So be sure to come back.
I have another home I am going to show you.
Hugs to all.

My Blog-My Life- My Way

Well, Hello My Friends,
This post was suppose to be on my blog
Monday. . But. . .
Trust me to be a day late or maybe two.
Life just gets in the way. .
Or am I the only one that that happens to?
I am part of a Blog Tour
I was invited by

Be sure to check her blog out.
She is a sweetheart and has a beautiful blog.
I am so surprised to be part of this tour.
So. . .Let me introduce myself.
I am Karie.
Just a plain simple person who decided in 2009 to start blogging.
Karie's Chic Creations was born.
I love being a woman, a wife, (though my husband is deceased)
I am a Mom to four wonderful children,
Three boys and one daughter, who have brought me more
Happiness than I could ever imagine.
They are all married with families of their own.
I am blessed to have nine, grandchildren. .
Grandma-hood is the best.
Love those grands so much.
My oldest grandchild is 22 years old and my youngest is 8
My family and my faith our the two guiding forces in my life.
I am a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I am a Mormon.
I began blogging because I wanted to share my passion for
Homemaking. . .It is a noble calling to be a Homemaker.
I feel it is a blessing and a privilege, and I am happy to be
Making my house a HOME.
So come on in. . .All are Welcome.
My style is very eclectic. . .What can I say.  I a little bit of everything.
I love to find old things and make them beautiful again.
I have been painting furniture before it was the "in" thing to do.
Although not everything in my home is painted.
I like the beauty of wood also.  Nothing like the beauty of wood.
You can also see that I love color. . .I think the world is a colorful place.
So why shouldn't my home be colorful.
I have to say I love Blue, all shades, but I also love Reds and Yellow
And lets throw in some Green, and Orange. . .just whatever fits my fancy.
The little stool in the picture is one of my first Blog projects.
Quadrafoil was popular so I free-handed the design on the stool.
Nothing stays the same for long. . I am always re-arranging
Swapping things out. . soon I will be doing my Fall decorating.
It happens to be my favorite.
I just completed my wall gallery.
I really do like it.  Let me tell you,
I would drive a professional picture hanger nuts.
I eyeball everything. . .I never lay it out first, nor do I measure.
I just say Hmmm, I think I would like that frame here. .
And I hammer a nail in the wall.
There ya go!
In this picture you can see the two little Terrorists on the arm of the couch.
They are on neighborhood patrol.
Nothing in the neighborhood gets past them.
They are my little fur-babies.  And I adore them.
Teddy Roosevelt, and Johnny Cash.
I just don't know what I would do without them.
What is my creative process?
I don't know. . .I just do what I want to do when I want to do it.
Although I do have to get the "feel", and I study things out in my mind.
So, I guess I do have a process of sorts.
I think I do OK, flying by the seat of my pants.
Decorating my home is not my only passion.
I am what you would call a jack of all trades and master of none.
I crochet, sew, paint, embroidery, quilt, scrapbook, and photography.
I dabble in a lot of things. . .and I like them all.
"If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report
I will seek after those things."
Through my blog, I hope to share some happiness and joy.
I know that life can be hard, and we all carry our own burdens,
And sometimes I will talk about mine.
But for the most part, I try to stay positive, and grateful
Did I mention I am also a collector of many things.
I love going to thrift stories, antique stores, flea markets, and yard sales.
I have found some great treasures in my "junk hunt".
I love being in nature. . It gives me peace.
I am amazed at the beautiful world I live in.
So much to see and to enjoy.
So here you have the story. . behind the Blog
I want to thank those who invited me to open my blog to you.
And to introduce myself.
I hope you will come back again, and join with me as I
Continue to make my House a Home.
There are some blogs I have followed since my beginnings.
I love Marty's style and ideas.
Jann has a great vintage style and I love it.
I have followed Shiela from the start.
I also like
Brenda has such an interesting blog.
My dear friend Sue. . one very talented lady.
My side bar shows a lot of the blogs I follow.
Although Blog-land is getting so big I am always
Coming across a new blog I want to follow.
You are all so inspiring.
I am amazed at the creative force out there.
We are all making the world a beautiful place.
Thanks for stopping by, and please do come by again.
Hugs to all,

August Table Top Vignette

Well hello my friends.
My goodness where is the time going?
It is  August.
What is the deal? How much faster can time go?
Oh, boy, summer for me will soon be over.
In fact I hate to say this but. . . I feel a change in the air. . (Shh!)
We have had lots of summer rain storms.
The temperature is cooler than normal.
So maybe that is why I "feel it".
With that being said I put together a little
August Table Top Vignette.
Love the orange-ish, brown-ish, yellow-ish colors
Still full of summer, but with a hint of changing season.
I really never know about "vignette's" until I started blogging.
My friend Marty at A Stroll Thru Life is a vignette master.
She puts together the prettiest vignette.
And so do a lot of other blogger. . .love to see them.
The tablecloth I used is one I sewed a long time ago.
I love it because it is reversible.
One site is the cute farm look.
Apples, birdhouses, sunshine, and farm animals.
The other side is more of a late summer look.
Sunflowers, bee skelps, and birdhouses.
I really enjoy my little dinette area.
My condo is small and I don't have a dining room,
But I have what I call a dinette. . .and I love it.
I like to decorate in it.  The big sliding door opens onto my
Tiny backyard and patio.  Just right for me.
I have been busy sewing.  My mood changes from one craft to another.
This week it is sewing.  I will show you what I have been working on late.
And speaking of sewing and crafts. . .to my amazement and surprise
My little craft/sewing room was featured at
I am very honored any time something I show on my blog that
I have created is picked up by another blogger and featured.
Wow! I am just little ole' Karie my blog is nothing compared to
So many other blogs.
Now that the craft room is organized and refreshed, my creative
Mind is also refreshed and I am in the mood to create.
I hope you are having a creative moment. . .
Please do come back again.
Hugs,
I am partying at these great blogs
