September Roses

Well hello my friends,
It is a beautiful
September morning where I live.
I am so thankful for temps in the 70's
And cool nights.
How about you?
We have had a long hot summer!
So the cool late September weather
is very welcome.
If you recall, I have told you about my little rose bush
I have tenderly cared for.  She was very sad when
I moved to my home.  She had not had water for
heaven only knows how long.
The water sprinklers were not getting to her.
So I carried buckets of water to her for a long
time until the sprinklers were fixed.
I trimmed her back, and said a little prayer for her
to survive.  And guess what she did survive.
She had produced beautiful little roses for me.

When I was walking up to my house the other
day, I noticed her gentle little flowers,
and thought of the enjoyment she has given me
faithfully showing her beautiful colored petals
even during the heat of summer.
Now the season is coming to an end,
And there she was with the
Last of her September Roses,
They looked so beautiful and vibrant that I had to
snip the last of her blooms and make a little bouquet.
She will take her long winters nap, and return in the spring
and again produce beautiful bud and blooms of roses
for me to enjoy. . .again and again she will do that for me.
There are lesson of life in nature.  My little rose bush has taught me
many lessons, she is a survivor.
She overcomes the adversity of the natural world,
and with determination she gives beauty and brightens
her little spot on this earth.
When she was at her lowest, with no way to help herself,
A friend (me) came along and helped her to live.
And in gratitude she has blessed me with beautiful
roses and it makes me happy.

She is the Grandmother who raised me.
She taught me how to live, and how to love life.
I own so much to my beautiful Grandma Dot.

Sunshine and Blue Skies ~ Fall Decorating

Hello my friends!
Where ever you may be I hope
your day is filled with
sunshine and blue skies. .

Kanab, Utah

I know that it isn't possible to have blue skies
and sunshine very day of our lives.
But, hey, we can dream!

Today in Utah it is beautiful.
Thank goodness the temperature has dropped a little
the sky is blue and there is sunshine.
But. . . . as with all things, it won't last
we are expecting to have rain in the next few days.

Maybe once the weather changes I will feel like
doing some Fall decorating. .
I just can't think of colored leaves, sunflowers,
and pumpkins when the weather is in the
high 90's and it is still so hot!

By this time last year I was decorating
my front porch, and the inside of my house
was looking pretty good. .

I love to decorate for fall. .
I think it is my favorite time to
decorate. . I like the colors
I like the flowers. . the leaves. .
The rustic look.

I found these beautiful
rustic, pumpkin, sunflowers decoration
Oh, how cute would one of these look
on my front porch?

No I did not buy them. . .Yikes!
I have some many Fall decorations. .
I have to restrain myself from buying more.

So how are you doing with your decorating?
Are you like me,  just can't get in the mood
when the weather is too hot?

It Truly Is a Wonderful World

Today I want to scatter some happy thoughts
and share some of my favorite
quotes on being
Grateful.

One of my favorite little character is little Piglet.
He and Winnie the Pooh have such a sweet
friendship and they are so simple in their thoughts.

"Piglet noticed that even though he had
a Very Small Heart,  it could
hold a rather large amount of
Gratitude."
A.A. Milne

It seems that the world is in chaos.
Terrible things have happened to people
across our beautiful earth.
I think we have all paused and wondered. .
What next?  Why?

Even in the darkest of times, or the times when
our hearts and our soul may be suffereing
There is still much to be thankful for.
Showing Gratitude can change us,
It can turn our life around.

The world has beautiful mountains and meadows,
spectacular skies and serene lakes.
It has forests, flowered fields and sandy beaches.
It has plenty of stars and new sunrise and sunset every day.

What we need is more people to appreciate and enjoy it.

Enjoy the little things for one day you
may look back and realize they were
the big things.

Is this not true.  There have been many times
when I have not recognized how grateful I was
for something very small in my life,
until it was gone.

I hope we can share our Gratefulness
Spread positive thoughts and actions
Be kind to others, and especially to
those who carry heavy burdens.

Another favorite person of mine.
Maya Angelou

"This is a wonderful day.  I have never seen this one before."

Be Grateful to see the beauty of a new day.

No Change For Me!

Hello!
A few weeks ago I posted that I may be making
changes to my blog.

I gave the idea of changing much thought,
pondering and prayer.

Blogging has changed in the last year or so.
It just isn't the same as it was when I started
Many years ago.
And to tell you the truth I have kind of lost interest
in my little partner, Karie's Chic Creations.
I thought about changing the name.
But how do you change the name of something you
named to begin with.  Nope, I just couldn't do that.

So then I thought of changing my content.
But geez, I kind of like to show you my little
part of the world. . .it isn't much, but I live here
and I kind of like to show it off.

And what about all of you that follow me?
I have made some friendships here.
And once you are my friend you will
always be my friend.  You see, I believe
Friendships are Eternal.
I don't believe in coincidences.
We are friends for real.

Sooooo! I don't think I will be changing anytime soon.
I really like to blog, and I like what I write about.
And if someone may not like it, then that is ok too.

So me and the little Terrorists,
Teddy Roosevelt and Johnny Cash
Will still be Blogging  and telling world
about our life here in our little spot in this massive
place called Earth..
It is a tiny spot, but we like it and we want
to tell you about it.

Oh, and one more thing I am a
Mormon!
I belong to
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

My religion is very important to me.
It is very much a part of who I am.
So you will hear a lot about my life
My Talents, My Activities, My Family and
My Belief
in God and in His Son Jesus Christ.

Oh, and did I mention we will have
A Good Time.

I hope you will continue with me.. . .and if you
are new to my blog,  please come back again.

Hugs to all,

A Random Act of Kindness

Hello my friends,
I first want to say how sorry I feel for the  good
people of Texas.  Oh, my goodness!
My prayers are with  each person
whose life has been
affected by this devastating act of nature.

May God be with you as you
recover and rebuild.

A few days ago my dear friend Diane brought me this
beautiful Sunflower.

She told me she was taking the counsel of
President Thomas S. Monson.
(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
Who said.
"do random acts of kindness".

Diane's random act of kindness certainly
made me feel better.

Diane had no way of knowing that the day she brought me
the beautiful Sunflower, I was having a very rough day.

Her simple act of bring me a beautiful flower,
cheered my weakened heart.

I challenge whoever reads this post to
do a "Random Act of Kindness".

Let's fill the earth with kindness to one another.
