Madalin Chair/Harp Back

I finally finished the

Madalin Chair

(that is the name I gave her)

It is a beautiful Harp Back Chair

I found it at DI several months ago. . .

 I thought for sure I had a picture of the before look

But, I guess I didn't take a picture of the poor little thing.

She was actually in real good shape. . . . just ugly!

 It is always amazing how a little paint and pretty upholstery

Can make such a dramatic change. . .

 After painting it white. . . it did  need a little character so. .

I shabbied it. . .(distressing)

 I am going to sell her. . . I don't know how I will be able to

Part with her. . . .When I re-create something
 I become attached.

But, my house is filling up with my attachments. .

So. . .I will sell Madalin to someone who will love her.

 I think she is probably from the 1940's

A knock-off of the Duncan Phyfe Style.

She is so pretty. . .I really enjoyed

And she looks very well in my home!

Somethings Are Always The Same

Taking a look at my home

I realized there are some things that

I have always had in the same place. . .

I don't change. . .

I have lived in several places, but

There are certain things I keep in the same place. .

Such as the things in my bedroom. .

My Bedroom has always been blue. .

Well, I once had a gold bedroom and when I was

A little girl I had a pink bedroom. .

But for the most part my bedrooms have been blue.

 Pictures of my four children have always been in my bedroom

This very grouping has been the same for many years.

 My Daughter's Bridal Picture

Has always been in my bedroom.

 Somethings I don't want to change.

 My dresser has always been the same.

And the things I display on top have always

Been the same.

 My Grandma Dot's picture has always been on my dresser

And the little china dish that belonged to her

Has always been on my dresser.

The pictures I have displayed on the shelf

Have always been in my bedroom

Since I was about 8 years old. .

The same frames the same mat. . nothings changed.

Now, if you know me I am a person who likes to change

Things around. . . . vignettes never stay the same.

I like to change furniture and re-arrange.

But, there is something about my bedroom

I like to keep the same.

My Childhood Camera

I recently came across my little

ANSCO Camera. . .

 I received this camera for Christmas

When I was 10 Years old. . .

1958

 Oh, I was so excited to have this camera

I took pictures of everything!

 I am actually surprised it survived. .

Along my life path so many "things" were discarded

It isn't a fancy camera . . .

But it took a lot of pictures of my childhood days.

This little camera along with a lot of other

Childhood "things" is

VINTAGE.

That must mean I am VINTAGE. . .!

July is the Red, White and Blue month

My decorating has been centered around

Celebrating July 4th.

But there always seems to be something that is PINK!

This adorable little Goose made me laugh out loud!

A friend gave it too her in the 70's

It is a goosey bank!

You put the money in its beek. . . .Isn't that so hilarious?

I love it. . .

What is a yard without PINK Flamingo's?

They always make me smile. . .

I found out that Pink Flamingo's are now

Americana. . . Unique to our American Culture. . .

These little cuties are in my Aunt Colleen's yard.

This little PINK lady is very vintage. .

I have had her for a number of years. . . 

 Like I said you can always find PINK

This demolition car was in the 4th of July Parade.

That is the big accomplishment. . .

Spreading Love and Friendship along life's pathways.

I love being a Homemaker. . .
It is a noble calling in life. . .
Making a House a Home
Not always was my picture taking the best as
 I Showed you the things I was doing with my home.

 I am still learning a lot about pictures for blogs.

 I have learned how to do special effects on my photos.

 I now love to take pictures of just about everything. . .

 I  have learned how to make a Photo Mosaic

Because of blogging my Tea-Cup collection has expanded!
Along with several other collections. . .

I like to find things that are PINK. . . I look for

Vintage Things. . . I enjoy my crafts much more

All because I like to show them to you!

I hope you will continue with me as I blog along in life. .
I am sure I will be telling you about my kids, my trips to
DI the thrift store.  There will be more Sewing,
Crocheting, Crafts, Home Decorating. . Painting old furniture

Pepper Ann wasn't on the best of behavior
The night of the Rodeo

She's a sensitive little horse, and the people made her nervous. .

But my Princess Sara Lyne handled her beautifully

 When Princess Sara Lyne was ask what she likes to do

she proudly said. . ."Doing crafts with my Grandma Karie"

 She is such a happy little girl. . .

This is little sister Zada. . . her first year riding in the parade.

I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't a Rodeo Princess next year.

The parade continued with my

First Place Softball Champions!

Here is my Grandson Jared waving to the crowd.

And cousin Brissa . . .

Especially when he can ride the fire truck in the parade.

My two granddaughter are in the

All-Star Girl's Softball

Emma is 1st.  base and Brissa is catcher. .

The day continued with family and friends. . .

A great BBQ. . .and ending with Fireworks. . .
